On most weekends, I officiate hilarious and meaningful weddings. Nobody expects wedding ceremonies to be funny but I excel in getting the evening off to a joyous start. The stuffier the atmosphere, the better I get at relaxing the crowd.

Chris Shelley is an experienced and successful wedding celebrant, having officiated hundreds of weddings all over New York, New Jersey and on television. He’s the author of Best. Ceremony. Ever., (W.W.Norton). His unique blend of nuanced, humorous writing, performance experience, maturity and perfect comedic timing make him one of the most sought-after officiants in New York. No matter what kind of event, Chris’s writing and performance skills can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. Chris has a BFA in Acting from Boston University and an MFA in Creative Writing from New York University. Chris also speaks to students and companies about public speaking and confidence.
