Blue Wave Theory is an American instrumental rock band formed in 2007 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The group's sound is rooted in surf music of the 1960s, but often incorporates elements of other genres including reggae, punk rock, jazz, and progressive rock. The band's music is entirely instrumental and features the current lineup of Steve Rabeler (guitar), Bob Trimble (guitar), Chiemena Ukazim (bass), and Rick Eddy (drums). Blue Wave Theory (also known as BWT) and their hectic eclectic brand of music has shared the stage with some of of the world's finest surf and instrumental rock artists including Dick Dale, Messer Chups, Gary Hoey, and The Blair-Pongracic Band. BWT has also performed with many of the coolest east coast bands including Mister Neutron, The Coffin Daggers, The Supertones, and Creem Circus. The group has performed at music venues throughout New Jersey, Philadelphia, and New York City, including the Sellersville Theater, World Cafe Live, MilkBoy, The Brighton Bar, The Anchor's Bend, Otto's Shrunken Head, and the Coney Island Boardwalk. In addition, Blue Wave Theory has played in several east coast summer festivals including the Make Music New York Festival, Asbury Park Surf Music Festival, Rockaway Beach Surf Music Festival, Bethlehem Musikfest, the Art of Surfing Festival, Twangstock, and Surfapalooza. Blue Wave Theory also performs for special events including Life Rolls On / They Will Surf Again, and the Epicurean Palette at Grounds For Sculpture.
