Overview
From Kalyn Jacobs
Worked in Guest Services for the two day event with multiple responsibilities; including Tag-A-Kid Program, Front Entrance and Parking Lot Greeter and Fest Expert, ADA Platform security and assistance. The first day, I worked in the Guest Services booth of the festival as the head of the Tag-A-Kid Program where I greeted interested families with any questions about the festival, but most importantly introducing them to this new program that a lot of festivals are starting to use. This is where we gather the parent's name, phone and email information along with the kid's name and age and we put the primary guardian's phone number on a wristband to put on the kid. This is so that if the child ever goes missing or lost at the Festival, and someone is able to find them and is able to call the number on the wristband. The second day, I was in charge of a more mobile and energetic job by being an entrance greeter. I was able to meet so many people and make short conversation, while holding a sign saying "Fest Expert" so anyone can ask me any question about the festival and I should be able to answer them. Then I was assisting a team member on one of the ADA platforms, where I had to limit access to the ADA porter toilets to only guests on the platform, check people's tickets and wrist bands, and assist guests for the maneuver on the ramp and access to the porter doors.
