Hiring Our Heroes

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce came to The Markham Group looking for help with their Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) military service organization. HOH makes meaningful career connections between tens of thousands of service members, veterans, and military spouses with hiring employers worldwide. HOH and Markham continue to work together on dozens of events every year and with multiple federal agencies, state level agencies in all 50 states, and all branches of the US Military. Since February 2014, Markham has worked with HOH to execute over 115 career summits on active duty U.S. military installations, connecting service members and military spouses with hundreds of hiring employers before they leave the military. These events help educate, motivate and empower service members before turning them loose on employers hungry for veteran talent. Over 9,500 employers and 60,000 job seekers have participated in these career summits, and these events have a 42% job offer rate. The program includes summits on installations overseas, and Markham has planned 16 of these events in Germany, Italy and Japan. We have produced hiring events in conjunction with over 20 professional sports franchises from all major sports leagues, including the NBA, MLB and NFL. Over the last nine years we have helped HOH hold more than 1,000 events, connecting over 500,000 veterans with more than 30,000 employers across the country while maintaining an industry-best 13 percent hiring rate at events.
