From Jet Sets
Over the course of four days in LA it attracted 30,000 visitors and sprayed over 17,000 messages allowing users to queue up, ask a question and get an answer written in sheets of water that fall like a waterfall. A hidden team of improv actors and writers served as 'the brain' of the fountain, providing instantaneous answers in water form. We fabricated the Fountain's stone structure and worked with the London office of sustainable agency CURB for the moss text, and with VFX show FrameStore for the visuals. the fountain’s basic technology–timed drops of water forming symbols, letters, and numbers–was actually pioneered more than 30 years ago by industrial design artist and professor Steve Pevnick and has been used in promotional events.
