Overview
From Joseph Rogero
I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Society 1858’s Winter Party. The accomplished board of members hosts an annual black-tie soiree to honor the arts. This year’s event honored Donté Hayes the winner of the 1858 prize for contemporary southern art. The Gibbes Museum hosts the fête and this year the black-tie gathering was inspired by the world of contemporary art. Vibrant light installations mixed with progressive tunes ushered in celebratory energy among the fashion-forward attendees. I am always inspired to photograph the well dressed, indulging themselves in a fun-filled night. The guests included the who’s who of Charleston and beyond. Artists, editors, creatives, designers and local entrepreneurs attended what was another fabulous Winter Party.
