In order to introduce consumers to their new flight path from Los Angeles to Manchester, UK, Virgin Atlantic wanted to create an event that celebrated the best of what each city has to offer.
In the heart of L.A., we invited influencers and media members to celebrate two vibrant cultures from two different countries. Artists, chefs, mixologists, and musicians from both cities were in attendance to share their take on what makes each city great while also collaborating with their cross-continental counterparts on original creations.
After being greeted by Virgin Atlantic crew members with a glass of champagne, guests were encouraged to snap a picture at our photo op, collect their personalized luggage tags, and enter our scenic lounge. Partnerships with Marketing Manchester and Visit Britain helped bring to light all that Manchester has to offer while a Buzzfeed-style quiz gave guests their own UK travel itineraries. Of course, the night wasn’t complete without an appearance by Sir Richard Branson, as he mingled with guests and even brought out a birthday cake to celebrate 35 years of Virgin Atlantic.
