Overview
From Manifold
On Nov 13-14, GitHub Universe brought together a community of over 1,700 developers, executives and industry leaders from around the world, who are connected by code and turning ideas into innovations.
GitHub Universe was not your average tech conference—from an LED-lit entry tunnel representing real time data from the GitHub platform, to a large scale, sculpture garden version of Mona’s* closet, where conference-goers could pose with her famous accessories, there was surprise and delight, bringing the platform to life, around every corner.
With an emphasis on beautiful experiential elements, thoughtfully designed art installations and impeccably curated environments to inspire and empower their guests, the Universe experience infused an element of fun and creativity into the traditionally stale software conference environment.
Universe, which was held at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, provided the opportunity for attendees to hear from industry experts and put a face to a username—connecting old and new collaborators and see what’s to come for GitHub’s newest products, features and programs. Manifold worked with GitHub on all aspects of Universe from experience strategy, creative and design to show production and fabrication.
*Mona is GitHub’s beloved mascot, an anthropomorphized octocat—a part cat, part octopus character, with five octopus-like arms.
