SFMOMA Sculpture Collection Launch

“Wine, Art, Sonoma” is something that someone might say and you might have a preconceived notion of the experience. That is not the case at The Donum Estate and this winery is an experience that can only be had first hand to have an idea about the imagination, creativity and inspiring contemporary sculpture that reflects like gems on the hills of Carneros. This was a grand art opening that would cause waves if it were in Manhattan or Miami but this was in Carneros and that absolutely made it better. What The Donum Estate has achieved has hit the reset button on what a wine and art experience can and should be. This has set the high watermark for creativity and beauty in the Napa-Sonoma wine country, perhaps the world. This grand opening at Donum in partnership with the SFMOMA was an affair to remember, many of the contributing artists to this space were present including Richard Hudson, the sister of Keith Herring and a surprise appearance by Ai Wei Wei. Guests wandered around the sculpture-dotted property sipping wine before sitting down to a seasonal, family-style dinner.
