From OrcaVue
The Kentucky Derby has been the pinnacle of horse racing in the United States for more than a century, and for the 145th running CBS Sports teamed up with OrcaVue to add cutting edge event production into the time-honored spectacle. Using their one-of-a-kind ‘360 slow-motion video booth’, OrcaVue entertained Derby Go-ers and celebrities alike by making them the stars of their own video Derby Day video. As participants stepped into the OrcaVue video booth, they were immersed in 360 degrees of 10ft tall graphics that created the look and feel of being the center of attention. Standing amid rose peddles in the middle of Churchill Downs with the energetic derby crowd cheering and looking upon them, participants did their thing and created unique 15-second slow-motion 360-video that were then sent out to them shortly thereafter. The videos turned out phenomenal, and the CBS Sports team ran footage of them as the broadcast transitioned back from commercials to the race itself. Some of the notable celebrity videos that got broadcast time were Steve Harvey, Larry Fitzgerald, Von Miller, the Backstreet Boys, Josef Newgarden, and many more.
