Newly restored as part of our 2018 renovation project, the lobby combines 19th-century grandeur with 21st-century enhancements. Recessed lighting and capital illumination accentuate the lobby’s grand marble staircase, distinctive chandeliers, and restored mosaic floor. The lobby’s central location offers easy access to exhibit galleries and event spaces, making it a stunning introduction that can serve as the focal point of a beautiful event.

This spacious hall features a herring-bone hardwood floor, vintage chandeliers, and custom-built mahogany walls. With expansive windows that overlook Washington Square Park to the south, and city lights to the east, Ruggles Hall is a versatile and elegant setting for a singular experience.

A lovely complement to the Newberry’s distinguished architecture, Rettinger Hall features an all- marble floor, recessed lighting, and large windows that exhibit our historic neighborhood. Rettinger is a dynamic and sophisticated space suited for intimate gatherings and groups.

Within the historic setting of our building, the Baskes Boardroom is well equipped with technological supports for modern board and business meetings. This adaptable space also provides a learning environment for organizations and academic groups. The adjacent Rettinger Hall pairs nicely with this space as a location for a networking event or cocktail hour at the conclusion of a business meeting.

With various capacities, our conference rooms provide an affordable offsite space for meetings, seminars, and small groups. They are available throughout the day and evening hours, when the building is open, and are suitable for use as break-out rooms for a conference held in one of our larger event spaces.
