The Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site
Located in Shelby Township, Michigan, this venue is a hidden gem driven by Detroit’s automotive history and architecture that will have your guests talking for years about your event.
Established in 1928 by The Packard Motor Car Company, this unique site hosts multiple Albert Kahn-designed buildings on 17 acres. The entire 17 acres are yours for your event. The possibilities for the exclusively-yours experience you can create for your event are endless! Hold your ceremony outside on the tree-lined boulevard, inside the Lodge Garage, or at an off-site location. If you plan an outdoor ceremony and the weather chooses not to cooperate, you can simply move your ceremony to the Lodge Garage. Receptions are commonly held in the Repair Garage, which includes a large outdoor patio area with picnic tables. Utilize the courtyard area between the Repair Garage and Lodge Garage as additional space, whether as an open-air cocktail area or rent a tent to shade your guests from the sun or rain. No matter the season, the Packard Proving Grounds is an amazing backdrop for your ceremony, reception, and wedding photos.
