Chelsea Factory
A reimagined performance and incubation space in the heart of Manhattan dedicated to the artists of New York City.
Chelsea Factory occupies a 14,000 square feet industrial landmarked building in Chelsea, and for the first time since its construction in 1914, the space will be turned over to the artists of New York. Formerly known as Caldwell Factory, the space once housed the Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet Company, as well as Annie Leibovitz’s photography studio. The venue spans 8,675 square feet of flexible event space housing two new, modular, fully flexible performance, rehearsal, exhibition and meeting spaces with total seating capacity of over 350. The venue can be rented in its entirety or divided into (2) separate rooms with private lobbies. The addition of a removable air wall has made the space a customizable dream. The East Side includes an optional 160-seat black box theater, perfect for performing arts events. Chelsea Factory is the perfect space for countless events including auto launches, fashion shows, conferences, experiential pop-ups, and more! The dynamic capabilities and flexible nature of the space make it perfect for a wide variety of event opportunities. The Kagency has been enlisted to facilitate all private rentals of the space, with all rental income being directed toward subsidizing artists' use of the space.
