About

A culture of faith, neighborly service & great food. In 1988, Irma Galvan opened a small sandwich shop in an old house in downtown's warehouse district. Soon after, she converted the menu to Mexican fare and created a welcoming environment rarely found in restaurants. Along with her four children, Irma began a culture driven by faith, service, and food. Irma Galvan has been featured on the Food Network and is a recipient of the James Beard Award. Irma's eldest son, Louis Galvan, and his business partner, Bruce Williams, opened Irma's Southwest in 1998. Penned a "city slicker" by the Houston Chronicle, the restaurant brought a sophisticated edge while staying true to the core ideals and quickly gained the same elite reputation as the original Irma's. Irma's Southwest remains true to its core values of faith, neighborly service, and great food. We continue to serve our beloved Mexican fare, along with fresh seafood and exotic wild game from the Texas Hill Country. Blessings, welcome and enjoy!
