The Malabar House

A historic trading post on the route to the Indies- today Fort Cochin is a fishing port with a difference- where Portuguese- Dutch and Chinese influences are blended. Even today- there is net fishing on the beach- with a spectacular display of enormous nets. This hotel-museum from the colonial era is in the centre of the town- and provides a backdrop of contemporary- colourful elegance. In your room you will find pastel fabrics- wicker armchairs- a four-poster bed and pieces of traditional art. In other areas of the hotel- you can enjoy a permanent exhibition of carved wooden masks- painted idols and other remarkable works of art.
