The traditional 5-Star-Hotel Bristol is situated in the centre of the festival city, between the Mirabell Gardens and Mozarts residence and within 5 minutes walking distance to the famous Getreidegasse.The ground stone of the current hotel was laid by Archbishop Paris Lodron around 1619. In the centuries that followed, the building served as seat for various aristocracy. Towards the end of the 19th century it received its current apperarance.In 1892 the city of Salzburg, which then owned the property, opened the first hotel in the Mozart city offering electric power.
