The Hackney

The Hackney Restaurant, Bar & Distillery opened in 2019. We reside in a beautifully restored 1922 bank building located in the heart of historic downtown Washington, NC. A stones throw from the lovely Pamlico River. The kitchen team is led James Beard nominated Executive Chef Jamie Davis. He and his team create a Southern eclectic seafood led menu, meaning that our dishes are a fusion of all the cuisines that have influenced the South: French, Spanish, African, Native American and English. The menu always fits on one page to ensure freshness of ingredients and minimize waste, it also constantly evolves with the availability of local seasonal ingredients. At The Hackney we are fortunate to be blessed with a beautiful building and outdoor space that lends itself to a variety of different types of events, be they casual or more formal. The Hackney also houses one of the best restaurants in Eastern North Carolina, a distillery and a whole hog BBQ so our team is well equipped to cater to your food and beverage needs.
