The Rockefeller University
A 16-acre private oasis at the edge of Manhattan’s bustling Upper East Side, Rockefeller University’s campus is among the city’s most spectacular and soothing landscapes.
Rockefeller University has been described by The New York Times as “a musical composition of light, shadow and shades of green.” Designed by noted landscape architect Daniel Kiley, the well-tended grounds are shaded by century-old London plane trees and bloom with azaleas each spring. In addition to breathtaking views of the East River and historic Queensboro Bridge, visitors to Rockefeller enjoy dramatic works of art — including pieces by Alexander Calder, Chuck Close and Frank Stella — from The University’s permanent collection.
