The Arts Club of Washington promotes the appreciation of the arts and the historic preservation of the Club's home, the James Monroe House.
Nestled in the center of the nation’s capital, the Monroe House is a beautifully furnished historic and landmarked mansion. Once the home of President James Monroe, built around 1800, it has preserved most of its original character. The Arts Club is a gallery-style venue with event space on three floors and an expansive walled garden and terrace. It is the perfect venue for a DC event with a capacity of up to 400 for a cocktail reception and 150 for a seated dinner. The Arts Club offers full-service catering for private events. Our renowned Chef, Patrick Orange, will design a menu specific to your preferred choices and the season’s freshest provisions. Our attentive catering team provides impeccable service and will create a memorable experience for your events. Founded in 1916, the Arts Club of Washington, was the first art club in the city. For over 100 years the Club has promoted the arts and facilitated communication among artists. It is a thriving art scene with a theater, multiple art galleries, a sculpture garden, and a permanent collection. Every month, new artists from around the world are exhibited creating artistic energy in the background of your private events.
