The Casino was designed and built by Giovanni Vasanzio at the beginning of the 17th century, by order of Cardinal Scipione Borghese, nephew of Pope Paul V, as a summer residence near the Papal Palace. It overlooks a hanging garden overlooking the ancient Baths of Constantine, some of which are currently visible. In 1704 the entire complex was purchased by the Rospigliosi-Pallavicini family. Precious early Baroque complex, owes its architectural singularity to the insertion of marble reliefs on the entire façade, coming from slabs of Roman sarcophagi from the 2nd and 3rd centuries. A.D. Famous for the famous fresco of " L'Aurora " painted by Guido Reni between 1613 and 1614 on the vault of the central room of the pavilion. Other notable works are the frescoes by Paolo Bril, Antonio Tempesta, Giovanni Baglione, and Domenico Cresti.
