German American Society-Tulsa
Promote and preserve the German language, culture, and customs through education, social activities, and events for the enrichment of our members and the community.
The German-American Society of Tulsa (GAST or GASTulsa for short) was informally founded in 1979 when a group of native-born Germans decided to host the first-ever Oktoberfest in Tulsa. The success of the event led to the group continuing informal organization activities until January 1980 when GAST was officially formed as a social organization. In 1981 the German-American Society Arts Association (GASAA) was formed as a not-for-profit charitable organization. The addition of the association brought about more growth and activity at GAST. Together the two entities comprise the German-American Society of Tulsa as it is known today. With over 40 years of activity in Tulsa, the organization boasts a wide range of activities and events for the public and membership alike to enjoy. From language classes to cultural events and fun parties to intimate conversation groups, it is a unique place for all to enjoy. We hope you will join us at an event or become a member and a part of the GAST family.
