Tomaquag Museum

Tomaquag Museum is Rhode Island's only Indigenous-led museum focusing on tribes in southern New England & highlighting the Narragansett Nation. Our mission is to educate the public and promote thoughtful dialogue regarding Indigenous history, culture, arts, and Mother Earth and connect to Native issues of today. Tomaquag Museum, an Institute of Museum and Library Services 2016 National Medal winner, has a unique collection of thousands of cultural objects along with hundreds of thousands of pieces of archival materials. Through our Indigenous Empowerment Network (IEN) we are empowering Native artists, youth, and community through internships, apprenticeships, museum careers, and arts business development. indigenous peoples.
