The Prix de Flore was founded one day in May 1994, around one of the tables of the Flore, With the aim of crowning an author with “promising” talent. The selection criteria being originality, modernity, youth. The jury is distinguished by it's independence, it's freedom, it's insolence. It is in November that the Prize is awarded during an evening at the Café de Flore.
