Enjoy traditional cuisine of Japan in the Montrose district of Houston, TX. Established in 1986. Japanese owned and operated since the beginning. 30 plus years in service and still going strong. Born and raised in Hokkaido of Japan, Yoshida studied kaisen ryori (seafood-focused dishes) at an early age and later ventured to Tokyo to further his knowledge of Japanese cuisine in the vibrant, competitive restaurant scene of 1970s Tokyo. Newfound relationships brought him to the US. First Minnesota, then Los Angeles, California, until he settled down in Houston, Texas after meeting his wife and opening Nippon in 1986.
