Museo de las Américas
The Museum of the Americas is a non-profit institution founded in 1992. Its mission is to offer a synoptic vision of the history and culture of the American continent, emphasizing Puerto Rico, through our exhibition programs and cultural activities.
The Museum has four permanent exhibitions: Popular Arts in the Americas, African Heritage, The Indigenous of America, and Conquest and Colonization: Birth and Evolution of the Puerto Rican Nation. Over the past 25 years, the Museum has presented over 525 temporary exhibitions of art, history, and anthropology. The diversity of the exhibition program allows it to offer a range of creative workshops, conferences, symposia, and musical presentations, among other activities, thus extending the field of impact to the community both inside and outside its headquarters. The Museum of the Americas is a multidisciplinary, multicultural, and multidimensional museum of learning, that responds to a diverse community, which allows it to consolidate itself as a cutting-edge institution in Puerto Rico.
