Lorenzo Hotel
With artistic interiors and panoramic views of Downtown Dallas, Lorenzo Hotel’s Dallas event venues are anything but ordinary.
The original 1971 hotel was a Ramada Inn built by Bobby Bridewell of Metro Hotels and designed by a California firm, Hendrick & Mock. Bridewell went on to develop many other hotels with his crowning achievement being the five star Mansion on Turtle Creek. The Ramada later became the Dallas Plaza Hotel—slowly declining over the years until acquired by Hamilton Properties in 2006. The building’s doors closed in 2009, when the Hamiltons found a caretaker for the building, Tom Coughlin, who resided for eight years as the sole occupant rent free on the 11th floor to repel metal thieves and homeless invaders. Today, you can see a mold of his hand holding the directional signage for the guestroom floors in his honor. The hotel’s interior was completely gutted down to the concrete, and after years of designing and creating what it is today, Lorenzo Hotel in Dallas, TX opened in 2017. Since opening, the hotel has continued to evolve as a living art gallery, showcasing some of Dallas’ very own local artists. The inspiration around each and every corner of our boutique hotel is to immerse guests in a whimsical world that celebrates creativity and helps one escape the ordinary.
