Clifton Observatory
The Clifton Observatory is an iconic Bristol tourist attraction offering superb views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the city of Bristol.
Clifton Observatory has a rich history First built in 1766 as a snuff mill, Clifton Observatory suffered two fires in barely a decade before it was repurposed by William West and transformed into an Observatory in 1828. In the time since, it has been occupied by suffragettes, used as an air raid shelter, and, finally, reimagined into a gorgeous multipurpose events venue, historic attraction, and cafe.
