Chef Seng, born in Laos and a refugee of the Vietnam War, has become a renowned figure in the culinary world. After learning to cook from her camp neighbors and elders at a Thailand refugee camp, she pursued her passion for cooking. Today, she is the owner of multiple restaurants, including Padaek, Thip Khao, Sen Khao, and Hanumanh. Chef Seng is also a co-founder of the Lao Food Movement, dedicated to preserving and promoting Lao culture. She is widely recognized as the godmother of Laotian cuisine in America.
