The Société du Center des congrès de Québec is a government corporation created on June 15, 1993, with the mandate to manage, operate and market the Center des congrès de Québec. In January 1994, the governments of Quebec and Canada announced an investment of $81.3 million for the construction of a convention center in Quebec City, to replace the Center municipal des congrès de Québec built in 1974. The objective: to of Quebec City one of the most important convention destinations in North America.
