Opened in 1990, the Hangaram Art Museum is an optimal space for the exhibition of formative arts. After renovation in 2003, it was reborn with the latest facilities. It has six exhibition halls and a storage room in a three-story building with one basement floor, and a light ceiling system close to natural lighting creates a comfortable viewing atmosphere. More than 50 exhibitions are held each year, covering everything from exhibitions introducing ancient civilizations to modern art. Major exhibitions planned and hosted by Seoul Arts Center include<Anti-Apartheid>, <European Community Emerging Artists>, <Kandinsky and the Avant-Garde>, <Ancient Egyptian Civilization>, <Ancient Mesopotamian Civilization>, <Rembrandt Prints>, <Millet and the Barbizon Masters>, <Orsay Museum Korea Special Exhibition>, <France National Versailles Special Exhibition>, <Scythian Golden Civilization>, <Kusama Yayoi>, <Fernando Botero>, and <Niki de Saint-Phalle>.
