Bologna Municipal Theater
The new house of music Comunale Nouveau in Constitution Square n. 4, will host the great opera titles of the 2023 season, with the aim of offering the best spectacular enjoyment to our audience.
The Comunale Nouveau is the new temporary seat of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna. The name is inspired by the Esprit Nouveau pavilion located in the city's trade fair district, which in turn was inspired by the temporary pavilion that the famous architect Le Corbusier designed for the L'Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes. The Comunale Nouveau hosts the Opera and Dance season of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, one of the 14 Lyric-Symphonic Foundations recognized as national heritage by the Ministry of Culture. The Teatro Comunale boasts 260 years of history and has hosted artists, composers, and conductors of the great world musical history, from Rossini to Toscanini, from Liana Cavani to Bob Wilson.
