The Backstreet Cultural Museum is a community-based museum that showcases and preserves the traditions of New Orleans' parading culture. Through active participation in the local Tremé community and beyond, the museum works to maintain these traditions and educate wider audiences. They offer guided exhibition tours, a Mardi Gras Indian Sewing Program, an oral history project, and host events such as the Mardi Gras Day Open House and the All Saints Day Parade. Additionally, they collaborate with the Mandingo Warriors to host an annual Back to School Picnic.
