Thompson Italian is a modern neighborhood restaurant with locations in both Old Town Alexandria and Falls Church, specializing in housemade pasta and a menu that showcases best local and seasonal ingredients. Chefs-owners Gabe & Katherine Thompson honed their culinary skills at some of New York City’s top-rated restaurants like Per Se, Le Bernardin, and Del Posto. They went on to become chef-owners at three more popular Italian restaurants in Manhattan — L’Artusi, Anfora, and L’Apicio — as well as co-authors of the cookbook “Downtown Italian.” Upon returning to the DMV, Gabe was the opening executive chef at RPM Italian in DC, and Katherine, an Arlington native, brings her passion for pastries back home - garnering a James Beard nomination in the process. We are excited to serve elevated Italian food in a setting fit for all ages here in Old Town Alexandria.
