Twenty years ago, chef Marco Moreira opened the doors to Tocqueville restaurant, a jewel box located just steps from the Union Square Farmers Market, where he combined creative French technique with a unique American sensibility. Having grown up in Sao Paulo, Brazil with its large Japanese population, Marco had long been interested in Japan’s culture and cuisine. Five years later, he opened 15EAST next door to Tocqueville, where he offered New Yorkers one of the most acclaimed Japanese culinary experiences in Manhattan. Now, in the wake of COVID, he has combined his two beloved restaurants in one to create 15EAST @ Tocqueville, a sophisticated restaurant embracing seasonal American-French fare, Japanese omakase, and unparalleled hospitality. We look forward to welcoming you to our sprawling outdoor dining room, set under an elegant glass canopy to shelter you from the elements. The space has been designed to bring a sense of calm and comfort with seasonal foliage and cascading flowers, pillows, and wrap-around banquettes to keep you cozy, warm and comfortable while dining under a New York sky.
