The Lincoln is a cultural icon that is committed to transforming the lives of diverse communities through the joy of multi-ethnic, multi-generational and multi-purpose arts and education. The mission of the Lincoln Theatre Association is to serve as the steward of the historic landmark theatre, as an incubator for talented, emerging artists in our community, as a presenter of the highest quality artists from around the world, and as a creative partner that is an economic catalyst for the revitalization of the King-Lincoln District and downtown Columbus. First opened in 1928, the Lincoln Theatre is a landmark in African-American and jazz history. Developed, designed, constructed, and managed entirely by African-Americans, the Lincoln Theatre quickly became the place to see and be seen. When you become a Friend of the Lincoln, you join the company of other Friends and artists that enjoy the diverse performances, programming, and special events the Lincoln Theatre has to offer. The fully renovated, historic Lincoln Theatre is a multi-use, state-of-the-art performing arts center designed to engage, educate, and entertain the community. With a capacity of 588 seats, the Lincoln Theatre is an intimate venue perfect for any event. Since its reopening in May 2009, the stage of the Lincoln has been host to musical performances, corporate meetings, stage plays, movie screenings, weddings and cocktail receptions.
Any licensed caterer is welcome in our facilities and we do not charge a facility fee. All beverages must be provided by CAPA.
