Tanoshii - Andersonville
Casual BYOB restaurant featuring creative sushi rolls, bento boxes & other Japanese fares.
Executive Chef and owner, Mike Ham, learned how to make sushi while living in Jacksonville, Florida while working as an accountant. Working on a long-term project, Mike became a regular at a local sushi restaurant and was intrigued by the chef. He eventually left his accounting job and began to study with the chef. Mike traveled across the country with his mentor to perfect his craft, working in New York and settling in Chicago. Mike opened the first Tanoshii (translated means pleasant or delightful) sushi location in Andersonville in 2004 and now has a second location, Sapporo Tanoshii (translated means happy village) in Algonquin.
