Cafe Rabelais
Café Rabelais is a charming French café in the heart of Rice Village serving the highest quality French food and wine in a cozy, casual atmosphere for over 20 years. Guests say it feels like stepping into France without having to take a plane.
Cafe Rabelais was opened in October 2000. Originally located on Bolsover Street, we moved to our current location on Times Boulevard in December 2004 due to the new development being built by Hanover. Our original goal was to show Houstonians that French Food was not just high prices, uptight service, and snobby attitudes as often imagined but rather a casual dining experience with laid back atmosphere. We quickly developed a very extensive French wines list that got us recognition. Over the years we have thrived to remain just what our primary goal was; serving casual French cuisine and offering wines from every region of France.
