Swedish American Hall

The Swedish American Hall is a historic mixed-use event space and live music venue in the heart of the Castro. Featuring four unique spaces that can be rented in a variety of combinations, the venue accommodates anywhere from 50 to 500 guests.Available for corporate events, wedding receptions, and holiday parties. Breakout Spaces. Speakeasy Bar. Meetings.The Swedish American Hall contains four individual spaces on three levels. The Freja + Balder Halls are situated together on the second floor of the venue, while Odin Room is self contained on the ground level. These three spaces share a common entrance.Cafe Du Nord is a live music venue at the basement level that is also available for your next event. It has a separate entrance and can be rented on it’s on own, or as part of a full building buyout with direct access via secret entrance from within the building.

Cafe Du Nord

Cafe du Nord is at the basement level of the Swedish American Hall, with a dedicated entrance just two doors down on Market St. Cafe du Nord is an iconic San Francisco speakeasy, known for its long history as one of the best places to catch a live show in the city. The space features a calendar of music programming and is available to rent for private events ranging from corporate happy hours to intimate birthday parties and unique wedding receptions. Cafe du Nord can be rented on its own, or as part of a full building buyout with direct access from Swedish American Hall through a secret interior stairwell.

The Detour

The Detour brings to you a re-imagined version of the neighborhood arcade and interactive space. Quality drinks, comforting bites, and a curated mix of classic and new games come together in a playful, neon-colored industrial space.The Detour offers a wide variety of experiences under one roof. Black Hammer Brewing focuses on superbly balanced lagers, ales and hard seltzers at our brewery in San Francisco, California. We are considered the only Burner Brewery in existence today, and our name comes from the nickname of our co-founder, Jim "Hammer" Furman, semi-portmanteau with the name of Burning Man's iconic Black Rock City. Last Rites

Last Rites utilizes dynamic lighting, sound effects, flashing lights, and atomized atmosphere particles effects such as fog and haze to elevate the thematic experience and immerse guests in an otherworldly setting. The incorporation of fog and haze utilizes water and glycol-based solutions which are non toxic and hypoallergenic. All effects meet the standards of the Actor’s Equity Association’s Theatrical Smoke and Haze Regulations. None of the effects utilized institute burning of materials or chemicals in any form.Flashing lights and other effects used in this Last Rites could be unsafe for those with photosensitive epilepsy or other conditions with sensitivity to light.
