Ward ∞

The Covid-19 pandemic hindered the capabilities of think tanks and meetings, but as with other businesses, 2021 created a need to find a way to stay engaged and continue the mission. The staff decided on a Hybrid approach to the next big Ward Infinity meeting. But this raises questions. How does one best have a Hybrid Meeting? The overarching concern is who wants to sit in another zoom meeting. We created an online portal. Custom Graphics and Layouts. We allowed moderated chat with profanity filters. Try Me! We created an interface to spawn and remove a timed poll when asked to vote online. In-person we hired a DJ who works with us frequently and made sure he spoke to the camera frequently to the online audience. It is hard to remember to communicate with an online audience when there are 100 people in the room with you. And we used our years and year of experience to make sure the in-person meeting was just as engaging and valuable. Jubilation, hugs, kudos, and more were shared with DCAV staff.
