Overview
From WEBB Production
doTERRA’s annual Global Convention is one of our biggest shows of the year with nearly 30,000 attendees traveling from over 55 different countries to downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. Our team of 416 were eager and ready for the challenge. Load-in for this event started a week in advance and required 182 semi-trucks to get everything on-site. The convention occupied the entire Salt Palace Convention Center as well as the Vivint Smart Home Arena. You think those numbers are crazy? Just wait.
The product showcase alone took up over five convention center halls, more than 275,700 ft². One of the standout installations from this area was a 40′ x 40′ 'Deep Blue' ball pit with over 240,000 balls and branded pool floaties.
One general session stage at the Vivint Smart Home Arena and the other across the street at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Both stage designs incorporated giant automated petals that were projection mapped and surrounded the stages both on the ground and in the air. These petals created a frame for the stage which hosted a slew of incredible speakers and welcomed a surprise performance by Hugh Jackman. Keeping his performance a secret from 30,000 attendees was a huge feat in and of itself. The best part is, we did all this and kept it green. The event was rated #1 in sustainability by the Salt Palace Convention Center. Over 28.1K pounds of materials were recycled and 16.7K pounds of materials were donated to local art programs, schools, and theatres.
